Highland Park ZBA approves minutes, continues variance case to date uncertain

The Highland Park Zoning Board of Appeals opened its Jan. 15 meeting by approving the Nov. 20, 2025 minutes by voice vote; Member Harmalek was recorded as abstaining.
Later in the meeting, following staff presentation and testimony on VAR 202500058 (2021 Old Briar Road), the board voted to continue that variance request to a date certain so the applicant could provide additional materials and re-notice adjacent neighbors. The motion to continue was made by Member Forschancini and seconded; a roll call at the hearing produced affirmative responses from a set of members who answered during the roll call and the chair declared the matter continued and to be re-noticed.
No final zoning action (grant or denial of the requested variance) was taken on VAR 202500058 at the Jan. 15 meeting.
