NEISD approves targeted improvement plans for five campuses; two continue ESF grant work

Northeast Independent School District trustees approved targeted improvement plans (TIPs) for multiple campuses, including those required by federal accountability and TEA's Effective Schools Framework (ESF) grant conditions.
District Coordinator of School Improvement (DCSI) reviewed ESF grant terms for Ridgeview and Wood, noting that both campuses exited CSI status but must continue improvement work tied to grant dollars and approved vetted partner collaborations. Ridgeview will continue PLC-focused coaching with a partner (E3 Alliance) and aim for measurable gains in math proficiency and TELPAS outcomes; Wood will expand observation-and-feedback systems, increase ILT (instructional leadership team) walk-throughs and set student-growth milestones.
For federally identified campuses, Delview (year 1 progress), El Dorado and Jackson Middle School presented TIPs focused on research-based instructional strategies, PLC development, observation feedback systems and content-specific interventions in English and math. Delview, which already showed year-over-year improvement in Federal Domain 3 measures, set goals to sustain and build on that progress.
Lee High School, identified for three consecutive years of a D rating under state accountability rules, presented a TIP focused on instructional materials and research-based strategies to raise Domain 1 scores; the campus set tiered implementation milestones (60% implementation in year one, 80% in a later milestone) and scheduled ongoing progress checks with the district.
Staff outlined quarterly and biweekly monitoring (DCSI visits, ILT walkthrough targets, central-office quarterly review) and committed to public-facing family engagement and reporting. Trustees voted to approve the TIPs by roll call; the motion passed 6-0.
