Middleburg council reappoints and appoints members to boards after closed session

After convening in closed session under Section 2.2‑3711 of the Code of Virginia for legal consultation and appointments, the Middleburg Town Council reconvened and took several personnel actions on Dec. 11.
The council recommended the reappointment of Jonathan Gifford to the Loudoun County Circuit Court judge for a seat on the Board of Zoning Appeals, with a term to 12/31/2030. The council also moved to appoint Morris 'Bud' Jacobs to the Middleburg Planning Commission effective 01/01/2026 to fill a vacancy created by Chris Hirsch’s election; that term expires 12/31/2027.
On the Historic District Review Committee, Pankin (Pangkhan) Lee and Linda Wright were reappointed to three‑year terms expiring 12/31/2028, and Steve Simons was appointed to a three‑year term to the same date. Lynn Kaye was reappointed to the Middleburg Sustainability Committee for a three‑year term to 12/31/2028.
These actions followed a closed‑session discussion that the council said was limited to the topics identified in the motion. All reappointments and appointments were approved by voice vote.
