State Hospital construction moves forward; project oversight and GMPs pending

OMB reported construction progress on the new State Hospital west of the Jamestown campus: 297,000 sq ft, 140 beds, $300 million appropriated in HB1015, excavation and footings underway with structural steel planned and substantial completion projected in 2027 and operations in 2028.

Lindsay Ashley, statewide construction manager for OMB, updated the committee on the new State Hospital project near Jamestown. She said the building will be roughly 297,000 square feet with 140 beds and associated therapy, office and rehabilitation spaces. The Legislature authorized $300,000,000 in House Bill 1015 (approximately $200M in SIF and up to $100M in a Bank of North Dakota line of credit), and the project has begun site work and excavation.
