Administration described the work as data-driven and inclusive of public outreach in all four of the borough’s communities, with tasks including a housing needs assessment, stakeholder coordination and presentation of measurable goals and metrics.
Assembly members asked about the public-engagement plan and how the CEDS differs from the existing comprehensive plan; staff said the CEDS is a condensed, goal-oriented economic road map designed to meet EDA grant requirements and make the borough more competitive for future funding opportunities. Members discussed value for money and emphasized the need for robust outreach and clear deliverables.
The assembly approved the award on a roll-call vote; staff said the consultant will begin data collection and public engagement as outlined in the contract.
