The Linn County Planning & Zoning Commission on Dec. 15 approved a conditional use permit (CUP) for Arbor Masters (operating as Jimbo LLC, care of Jeremy Bowling) to operate a tree service business at 2226 Springville Road.
Staff told the commission the lawn/garden and yard maintenance category is permitted with a CUP in the county’s Agriculture zoning district but that the business property must be separated from the existing residential property because the use does not meet home‑occupation standards. Staff reviewed maps and a site plan showing outdoor storage for logs and mulch, business vehicles and fuel tanks, and said the applicant indicated seven full‑time employees with two people remaining on‑site for office work. Staff recommended approval subject to the conditions in the staff report.
No members of the public spoke on the case. A commissioner moved to approve the CUP; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll call vote.
What’s next: the applicant must record the final plat (the two‑lot split shown in concurrent platting) before continued operation as a separated business parcel and must comply with the staff‑report conditions, including any buffering measures required by the county when outdoor materials are stored on site.
