Linn County adopts fire, construction, property maintenance and housing code updates

Building official Luke Maloney told the board his office had received "no additional public comment or concerns relayed to our office," and recommended approval. The board approved the third and final consideration of the fire code ordinance (Code of Ordinances, chapter 12, article 2), followed by separate approvals for construction regulations (chapter 105, article 2), the property maintenance code (chapter 105, article 6) and the housing code (chapter 105, article 2).
County officials said the measures had been reviewed at prior hearings and no new substantive issues were raised during the final consideration. The actions complete the local adoption process; the ordinances will take effect according to the timelines set in the respective ordinance texts.
The board conducted each vote by voice; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the meeting transcript. The county noted there were no outstanding public comments tied to these items at the meeting.
