Miami Lakes extends lake-maintenance coverage while seeking new contract; LPR charges removed from STD

Miami Lakes staff requested a 90-day extension of the existing lake-maintenance contract while issuing a competitive bid; officials said license-plate-reader (LPR) expenses were removed from the Special Taxing District budget and residents will not be charged in the 25/26 budget.

JP, the towndistrict director, told the workshop the lake-maintenance contract was set to expire the next day and the town has requested a 90-day extension to cover services through March while a new invitation-to-bid is prepared. "The contract, was set to expire as of tomorrow. We have, gone ahead and requested a 90 day extension on that contract to go through, basically through March," JP said.
