Several commissioners asked for clearer line-item detail and asked that the development authority and economic-development staff appear at a work session to explain the amounts and deliverables.
Commissioner Gail Hambrick and other board members said they want a dedicated work session to discuss deliverables tied to the development-authority funding and to ensure public benefit and accountability for previous years’ commitments. The motion to approve the budget amendment passed by voice vote.
What happens next: staff said the issue may be scheduled for a work session so the board can review IGA history, payment timelines and expected deliverables before future payments or additional appropriations.
