At the work session, Speaker 9 provided a facilities update covering multiple active construction projects across the district.
Speaker 9 said Locksley’s classroom wings and administrative areas passed above-ceiling inspection; ceiling and floor tile installation and millwork are underway. Alberta Elementary passed its health department inspection and is cleared to open from that perspective. Alberta Middle is scheduled to begin flying trusses next Wednesday, the 17th, Speaker 9 said. On the Jubilee project, Speaker 9 said the team is "making progress" and that a milestone goal is to have air moving by January to remain on schedule.
Board members asked follow-up logistical questions. Speaker 5 inquired about timing and milestones; Speaker 9 reiterated target dates. A separate procurement question later in the meeting (Agenda Item 1) noted districtwide needs may prompt purchases that approach formal bid thresholds.
The administration did not announce a change in project scope or budgets during the update; officials said work continues to move forward on the stated timelines.
