The Waukesha Transit Commission voted Thursday to award a midlife engine-rehab contract to Cummins Sales and Service.
Staff told the commission that Cummins submitted the low bid of $43,326.77 per engine for two engines, producing a total contract amount of $86,653.54. Crete’s bid was roughly $6,000 higher per engine, and Badger Truck did not submit a bid because of an ongoing acquisition process. Staff recommended awarding the work to Cummins as the lowest responsive bidder.
Commissioner Eric Payne moved to accept the Cummins bid and Commissioner Kevin Riley seconded. The motion carried on a voice vote.
Staff did not provide a contract number during discussion; routine procurement documents and the formal purchase order will record the final contract award and timeline for the midlife rehabs.
