Ellis County Commissioners on July 22 entered executive session pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.071 to consult with legal counsel on two matters: pending or contemplated litigation concerning Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) matters (notably pending TPDES permits and petitions for creation of multiple utility districts), and a settlement offer in the Texas opioid multidistrict litigation related to the Purdue Pharma / Sackler bankruptcy plan. The court recessed into executive session at about 3:08 p.m. and returned to open session at about 3:40 p.m.
