The Marion County Commissioners reappointed Thomas Hanafi to the Health and Hospital Board on Dec. 16 and administered the oath of office during the meeting.
Hanafi, who said he had attended all but two board meetings during his previous four‑year term, thanked commissioners and praised board leadership and staff. He highlighted budgetary pressures as state and federal resources have declined and called for continued oversight and support.
A commissioner moved and the board approved Hanafi's reappointment by voice vote. President Joseph O'Connor administered the oath; Hanafi repeated the oath, pledging to "faithfully perform my duties as a member of the Health and Hospital Corporation Board…to the best of my ability" and to uphold the constitutions and laws of the United States and Indiana.
The board recorded appreciation for Hanafi's service and completed the customary signature and swearing process during the meeting. No further action was required to effect the reappointment beyond the recorded vote and oath.
