National Youth Advocate Program urges Hancock County residents to consider fostering

Evangelise Denison, licensing coordinator with the National Youth Advocate Program, addressed the Hancock County Commission on Nov. 13 to discuss the local need for foster families and to offer outreach resources.
Denison, who said she is based in Wheeling and covers Hancock County through Tyler County, told commissioners she has been attending local events to answer community questions and to put a face to the agency. “I cover Hancock County down to Tyler County, but I just wanted to come and spread the need that we have for foster families,” she said, and offered business cards, email and phone contact information for residents and local organizations to share.
Denison asked commissioners and the public to identify local organizations that would be willing to host informational sessions or take flyers. The commission agreed to include her contact information in the meeting’s published video materials.
