Committee approves renaming Jennings County bridge for Lance Cpl. Jackie Koenig Jr.
The committee voted 9-0 to approve House Concurrent Resolution 7 to rename the bridge over the Vernon Fork in Jennings County for Lance Corporal Jackie Koenig Jr., a Marine who died in a helicopter accident in Okinawa in 2017.

Representative Zimmerman introduced House Concurrent Resolution 7, which asks the committee to rename the bridge over the Vernon Fork in Jennings County in honor of Lance Corporal Jackie Koenig Jr., who grew up in Jennings County and was killed in a helicopter accident while deployed in Okinawa on April 9, 2017.
