CareerTech asks legislature for workforce training boost, $1.3M FBA increase and new middle‑school exposure programs

CareerTech Director Haykin told the Senate subcommittee the system requests roughly $68.45 million in new spending — including $31.65M for workforce training, a $1.3M increase to the flexible benefit allowance, $10M one‑time incentives for expansion and $1.5M to sustain apprenticeships — to reduce waiting lists and expand programs statewide.
