The Lucas City Council unanimously approved a preliminary plat and amended site plan for Lucas Crossing (formerly Lucas Town Center / the Hunt Tract) on Sept. 4, 2025.
Development Services Director Joe Hilburn described the 41.9954‑acre project at the northwest corner of Parker Road and Country Club Road. The plan calls for eight buildings totaling roughly 110,214 square feet and 12 pad sites; planned uses discussed in the packet include an anchor grocery (Tom Thumb), retail, fitness and a gas station. Hilburn said the engineering department approved civil plans, a flood study and a traffic impact analysis and that two engineering firms (GTE and Cardinal Strategies) had reviewed drainage. Planning & Zoning unanimously recommended approval on Aug. 14, 2025.
Council made a motion to approve the preliminary plat and amended site plan; the motion carried unanimously. Staff said utilities include 12‑inch water mains that will create a loop to serve the project and that the city is completing a lift station to provide sewer.
