The Mount Clemens City Commission approved a special event permit for a temporary marijuana consumption event at a private site that staff referred to as "Pleasant Trees" (the transcript contains variant spellings), city staff said.
City staff told the commission that RJB Enterprises LLC, doing business as Pleasantries Cannabis Company, is requesting approval under section 15(a) of the city's marijuana business ordinance and that even though the event is on private property the ordinance requires local government approval by resolution. Staff said the event is planned for Saturday, 06/07/2025, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and that "state approval is also required for the event." The presentation also noted that Macomb County Sheriff’s Office representatives are authorized under the ordinance to inspect the premises during operating hours.
There was no extended debate recorded; staff responded to questions and the commission adopted the resolution and took a roll call vote approving the permit.
The staff report identified the applicant and noted the regulatory steps that remain at the state and county levels before the event can proceed.
