Coldwater Planning Commission discusses code enforcement and master plan progress; sets next meeting for Nov. 17

Commissioners used the last portion of Tuesday's meeting to raise neighborhood concerns and receive staff updates.
A commissioner asked whether the city could address a cluster of nonfunctioning vehicles in the south part of town that resembles a junkyard. Planning staff said they and code enforcement have open enforcement actions and that they reopened the matter after receiving a commissioner email, adding, "we're gonna have to go back after them again" to pursue cleanup and ensure repairs do not occur in driveways.
In the Planning and Zoning Administrator's report, staff said the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting was canceled and one is scheduled Oct. 15, and that HCC meetings were canceled for lack of business. Staff reported a master plan steering committee meeting on Sept. 16 (minutes attached to the packet) and that nearly 300–400 responses were received on the master plan survey. Staff also noted a zoning text amendment (25‑03) had been recommended and that Ordinance 876 had a first reading on Sept. 22 with a second reading set for Oct. 6 if advanced.
The commission set the next meeting for Nov. 17 but noted it may be canceled if no special requests are received. The chair adjourned the meeting.
