Jennings County planning panel hears request to rezone downtown building for recovery center

Jeremy Pace, executive director of ICAST Alarms, asked the Area Plan Commission’s recommendation board to support rezoning of a downtown property so his group can operate a recovery community center there.
Pace said the center would be a “safe structured environment” where recovery meetings and services would be offered and where members would be required to perform community service. “We’re also offering a place where recovery meetings can be held,” he said, adding the site would operate 9 a.m.–10 p.m. weekdays and that “there’ll be nobody living” on-site.
