The Zoning Hearing Board approved a change of use at 1202 Mulberry Street from a hair salon to a convenience store after the applicant presented an easement and shared parking arrangement with an adjacent property owner. Realtor Tom Gilhooley, representing the buyer, said the property shares parking with a neighboring business and that the block already supports multiple commercial uses; he said the proposed convenience mart would serve the nearby university and that alcohol would not be sold.
Board members asked about frontage and entrance changes and were shown that the existing single‑door entry would be used; no neighbors spoke in opposition. After a motion and second, the board approved the change of use by a unanimous 5–0 vote. The applicant must proceed to obtain any required permits and signage approvals before opening.
