FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Tiffany Bridal, identified in the proclamation as president of the Fond du Lac City Council, proclaimed Jan. 26–30, 2026 as Crossing Guard Appreciation Week in Fond du Lac.
In the proclamation Bridal thanked adult school crossing guards for “reliability, vigilance, and quiet professionalism,” noting they serve at eight critical intersections and assist thousands of students in grades K–8. The proclamation recognized crossing guards for working in all weather, managing busy intersections, and helping children learn safe street-crossing habits. "I do hereby express our sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to our school crossing guards for their steadfast commitment, care, and service to the safety and well-being of our children and our community," Bridal read.
Council members and attendees applauded after the proclamation. The meeting then continued to routine business.
