SB 6,278 would formalize elements of the Professional Educator Standards Board’s program review for approved teacher and principal preparation programs: reviews must include PESB-adopted program standards, educator role standards, program-submitted evidence and input from community constituents, with PESB required to determine and notify programs of corrective actions when reviews show misalignment. The bill also moves the schedule for required student teacher field placement plan submissions so PESB can set a three‑year timeline beginning in January 2027.
