The Michigan City Sanitary District authorized a professional-services agreement with Actemium on Jan. 28 to configure new SCADA hardware at a cost of $41,710.
Staff explained that the districts existing SCADA hardware is old and that spare parts are difficult to obtain. The work will install current hardware, update software and configure the system so operators retain real-time monitoring and control capabilities across the treatment plants processes.
A motion to approve the professional-services agreement was moved, seconded and approved by the board. Staff said the hardware replacement will be covered from the equipment-replacement fund and that additional hardware spending will follow in subsequent budget line items.
