The commission proposed drafting a business application for prospective businesses to submit plans and uses for council review.
Kathleen said the attorney recommended clarity in permitted uses as a quicker alternative to a full zoning rewrite, and she asked the council for input on which commercial activities the town should allow. Council members agreed that more specific permitted-use language would provide clarity for staff and potential businesses and speed approvals relative to a full rezoning process. The council asked staff and the planning commission to work on proposed permitted-use language and a business-application form and return with a draft for formal consideration.
