• Acceptance of a Russian olive invasive-species mitigation grant from the Utah Department of Agriculture for $57,750 for FY 07/01/2025–06/30/2026. Staff said the grant requires matching contributions in cash or in-kind from the county, landowners and partner groups; staff characterized the program as long-running and ecologically effective along riparian corridors.
• Approval of Modification P0008 with the Bureau of Land Management to de-obligate $13,007.25 from option year three of the county’s BLM law-enforcement contract so funds can be moved into the upcoming contract year.
• Approval of the FY26 court security and bailiff contract between the Seventh District Court and Emery County Sheriff’s Office with minor reimbursement adjustments.
• Approval to apply for a Utah Office of Tourism (UOT) co-op marketing grant (requesting $80,000 for event marketing and $15,000 for future marketing planning and research) with matching funds identified in county budgets.
• Approval to apply for an OHV/OHVR grant to print motorized and non-motorized trail maps (10,000 copies each); staff proposed a $6,000 county OHVR application as the county share.
Commissioners discussed project timing and matching sources for grants and asked staff to continue coordinating with partner agencies (BLM and state) as grant opportunities develop.
