Robin Adams, community nutrition educator with Ohio State University Extension in Mahoning County, told commissioners the office has expanded food and nutrition education through grant funding and has improved food security for both adults and children in the county. Adams said the programming is funded by a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant and that the Extension office does not use county general fund dollars for those grant activities.
