County Attorney Chauncey (S3) told the board he had reorganized his office after a part-time collections position moved to a state office pilot, leaving two remaining support staff covering substantially more work. He requested an adjusted pay increase for the affected employees and provided amended salary figures. Chauncey said the two staff “work substantially more than they are required to and that they are extremely diligent and dedicated to their jobs.”
Supervisor 2 moved to approve the increases as presented; the motion was approved by voice vote with all present saying “Aye.” The board also approved a six‑month step increase (from $1,600 to $1,666.67 per pay period as recorded in the agenda packet) for an employee identified as Charlie Giberson Mitchell in the clerk/treasurer context.
Supervisors discussed how outsourcing collections to a state office offsets some in‑office work and reduces headcount, and briefly debated budget impacts. No opposing votes were recorded on either personnel item.
