Board approves Eastgate Commerce Center rezoning with proffer amendment

The Frederick County Board of Supervisors approved a minor proffer modification for the Eastgate Commerce Center (rezoning case 08-25), applying to roughly 30.4 acres along the north side of Tasker Road.
County planner John Bishop summarized the proposal and the changes since the original 1997 rezoning. The applicant agreed to dedicate a half section (52.5 feet from the centerline) toward the ultimate 105-foot right-of-way for Tasker Road prior to approval of the first site plan and to allow for one additional potential access connection. Bishop cautioned the board that any additional entrance would still require Virginia Department of Transportation approval.
“This item is an action item due to the fact that it’s a minor proffer revision under state code,” Bishop said, describing the staff recommendation and the revised proffers dated Nov. 6. After board discussion, a motion to approve the rezoning with the proffer amendment carried by roll-call vote.
Board members recorded aye votes and the chair announced the motion passed. The approval authorizes the change as described; any physical access work will be subject to VDOT permitting and typical site-plan review.
