The council adopted an updated technology acceptable use policy on Aug. 5 that strengthens cybersecurity requirements for city systems. Human Resources Director Chase Winburn reviewed the personnel manual revisions; the tech policy portion prohibits use of unencrypted public Wi‑Fi on city equipment, requires VPN/encrypted connections for remote access, and limits certain disabled firewall/VPN configurations.
