Representative Jill Covert sponsored HB 150 to restore a long‑standing classroom materials allocation to school‑based speech‑language pathologists (SLPs) and speech‑language technicians. SLPs testified that they carry large caseloads (often 50–60 students), provide services integral to early literacy and communication and routinely purchase hands‑on materials, visual supports and augmentative communication aids.
