PERRY COUNTY — Perry County commissioners spent substantial meeting time on Feb. 2 debating whether to consider sealed bids that were delayed in transit during severe weather, while also approving routine payroll and claims and making several appointments.
The procurement dispute began when vendors told the commission they paid for overnight delivery but their packages did not arrive on the posted receipt deadline. "We sent ours overnight, FedEx from Tyler, and it's still floating around," Jennifer Bridal, who identified herself as a representative of Vision, told the commission.
