Grant County APC finds Westside Economic Development Area inconsistent with comprehensive plan
After lengthy debate about farmland preservation, acreage and financing mechanics, the APC voted that the proposed Westside Economic Development Area does not conform with the Grant County comprehensive plan and the applicant withdrew a second EDA submission for revision.

The Grant County Area Planning Commission voted on Feb. 2, 2026, that the proposed Westside Economic Development Area (EDA) did not conform to the county comprehensive plan. The redevelopment applicant (presented by Augusta Consulting) had proposed a large area in the unincorporated west side of the county to be designated for infrastructure investment and possible incremental-tax allocation to support future development.
