CTAS representatives said the study could take up to six months and that CTAS has done similar county‑level fire service studies elsewhere.
Commissioners agreed it would be helpful to have the CTAS findings before finalizing a task‑force structure and funding assumptions. On a joint motion, the committees voted to defer Resolution 2-26-19 to the September 2026 meeting so CTAS has time to complete its work; the motion to defer passed unanimously.
