The Machesney Park Village Board voted to approve Resolution 08R26 at its Jan. 12 meeting authorizing the board to select from developer proposals for a village-owned property.
Village Administrator James Preckx told the board there were three proposals from two developers and that each proposal met at least 80% of appraised value. "We have three proposals from two developers for the property, and both are at least 80% of the appraised value," Preckx said.
Trustee Sipes moved to approve Resolution 08R26, Trustee Wilson seconded, and the board approved the resolution by roll call. The roll call recorded Trustee Stromberg as voting "nay" while Trustees Sipes, Roe, Wilson, Bogie and Mayor Johnson voted "aye." The motion carried and the resolution was approved.
The board moved directly afterward to closed session to discuss purchase or lease of real estate under the Illinois Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5)). The resolution’s approval authorizes the board to proceed in selecting among the presented proposals; specific developer selection and contract details were not disclosed during the public meeting and will be addressed in closed session or future proceedings.
