Arlington County announced that its snow-clearing crews have cleared more than 70,000 linear feet of park sidewalks, 1,000 lane miles, more than 200 bus shelters and stops, and over 33 acres of sidewalks and pathways around libraries, community centers and other facilities. The county said crews also cleared 21 bridges and overpasses, more than 10.5 miles of protected bike lanes, and removed more than 100,000,000 pounds of snow from major corridors.
The county said work is ongoing and crews are prioritizing school routes, transit stops, high-density residential areas and major corridors. The speaker thanked residents for community assistance and urged people to avoid using protected bike lanes while crews are working. Residents were asked to report streets needing additional attention using the county's snow issue form at arlingtonva.us/snowform.
