Summary
Ginnie Mae updated GMC financial and insurance modules to allow edits prior to certification, correction requests, and immediate insurance-active status; fiscal‑year‑end audited financial packages for issuers with 12/31 year‑ends are due 03/31/2026, and some exhibits for submissions were delayed pending legal review.
Ginnie Mae staff described updates to the GMC finance and insurance modules and clarified submission timing for audited financial statements.
Lawanda Dates, senior IT project manager, said users can now edit submitted documents prior to certification (including reuploading audited financial statements), and that a new correction‑request process will notify issuers by email and require completion by a specified deadline. She also said the insurance module no longer shows a pending coverage status; coverage will display as active immediately after submission. "Insurance coverage status will now be displayed as active immediately after your submission to Ginnie Mae," Dates said.
Dates reiterated that issuers with 12/31 fiscal year ends must submit audited annual financial statement packages and related schedule data to Ginnie Mae on or before March 31, 2026, and that extension requests must be submitted at least 15 days before the due date. She walked attendees through steps to access Ginnie Mae Central and ensure the required central functional roles are held.
Leticia Jefferson, director of customer experience, acknowledged a delay in publishing exhibits needed for some audited financial submissions. She said attorneys and monitoring teams raised legal concerns that required edits, and that Ginnie Mae expected to provide clearer guidance in the coming week to help issuers meet the March 31 deadline one way or the other. "So either way, whether they will or will not be available, please expect that is, in the coming week, we will provide you some clarity on what you need to expect when it comes to submitting to meet that 03:31 deadline," Jefferson said.
Ginnie Mae advised issuers to confirm access, work with org admins to provision roles, review GMC training materials and look for forthcoming modernization bulletins for details.
