The King William County Board of Supervisors voted July 28 to adopt Annex G, a weather-support annex to the county’s Emergency Operations Plan, to document how the county would request support from the National Weather Service and weather providers and to qualify for the storm-ready program.
Emergency-management staff said the annex was prepared in response to a request from the Mattaponi tribe and that most of the storm-ready program elements were already in place. Staff noted private providers that the county contracts with would fall under the annex’s scope and that participation in the program is free.
A motion was made to adopt Resolution 25-44 (noted in the record) to add the annex to the Emergency Operations Plan; the board voted and members present were recorded as voting 'Aye.' Staff said adopting the annex allows the county to proceed with the storm-ready application and related coordination with the National Weather Service.
Board action: Resolution adopting Annex G passed unanimously; staff will proceed with program application steps.
