Parish staff reported progress on the 2.30 kilovolt power project with key dates in November and an anticipated June completion for certain work; staff also presented a 100% funded health-unit elevation proposal, a hazard mitigation plan resolution due in January, a Mermentau Basin time-extension request and several board appointments to be handled at the voting meeting.

The full story

A parish staff presenter identified as Beau briefed the meeting on infrastructure and administrative items. On electrical work in the Jeff Davis area, he said crews have removed temporary generators at multiple sites and gave specific near-term switch-over dates: "We should be getting off of the generators, November 12 at Fulton and then November 19 at Johnson Bayou," the presenter said. He reported transmission-line work on the east side of the ship channel is complete and that remaining distribution taps and two substations (Manchester and Stirlie) still require outages; full work on the west side is expected in the months ahead, with the presenter estimating: "We anticipate probably being done with everything probably by about June of next year."
