Stevens County approves two staffing moves; public-health appointment delayed

The Stevens County Board voted to convert intermittent part-time dispatcher Julia Wolf to a full-time, benefit-eligible position effective Sept. 16. A motion to approve the change was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board also approved hiring Caitlin Gonzales for a newly created Case A social-work position (grade 16, step 6), effective Oct. 14. Staff said that with this hire the county will have the office support specialist position and social worker in place.
Separately, staff clarified the process for appointing a community member to the Horizon Community Health Board: applications must be submitted by the candidate and the county will take the appointment up at a follow-up meeting (scheduled for the fifteenth) after applications close.
