The committee voted Feb. 10 to forward a two-year contract addendum to continue the countys employee assistance program with Pine Rest at an estimated cost of $94,000.
Assistant HR Director Kirk Babcock said the contract was upgraded to allow seven visits per incident (previously five) at no additional cost, and that Pine Rest is the only local provider the county uses for critical-incident management for traumatic events; he noted the service is commonly used for deputies and can include family dependents. Babcock also said the county has been in contract with Pine Rest since 2019 and has renewed continuously.
Committee members asked about utilization data and how long sessions may extend; Babcock said utilization numbers from 2025 are available and can be shared with the board when the item is presented. The committee approved forwarding the addendum to the Board of Commissioners for final approval.
