Weld County approves two easement agreements for Galeton Drainage project

WELD COUNTY — The Weld County Board of County Commissioners approved two agreements to secure property interests needed for the Galeton Drainage Improvements project on County Road 74 between Grandview Avenue and County Road 51.
Public Works staff (Val Mino) said the Galeton project is scheduled to begin construction in December 2026 and the county is in the right-of-way acquisition phase. The first agreement (Contract ID 10334) is a memorandum of agreement with MoJack Enterprises LLC to acquire 1,574 square feet of temporary construction easement for $2,457; staff said the payment is included in the Public Works 2026 budget. Commissioner Jason Maxey moved to approve the contract and Commissioner Peggy Buck seconded; the board approved the motion unanimously.
The second agreement (Contract ID 10337) is a memorandum of agreement with Bridal Dock Farms LLC to accept conveyance of 0.155 acres of right of way needed for the same project at a cost of $1,560, which staff said is also within the 2026 Public Works budget. Commissioner Kevin Ross moved to approve Contract 10337 and Commissioner Lynette Pevler seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Staff said these acquisitions are necessary to complete the drainage project; no further conditions or alternatives were stated on the record.
