McAllen City Commission adopts updates to Unified Development Code
The commission approved a package of clarifications and corrections to the city’s Unified Development Code, restoring some prior standards, adding decision-making roles (city engineer, traffic engineer, building official), and revising signage, setback and technical-design provisions to reflect operational needs.

The McAllen City Commission voted Feb. 9 to adopt a set of amendments to the Unified Development Code (UDC) that city staff said correct errors, restore select previous standards and clarify administrative decision roles.
