Staff explained that HMGP administrative fees are calculated as a percentage of construction and engineering costs and that the grant administrator must amend the contract with the county to reflect those higher project costs. Speaker 4 said the amendment is 100% reimbursable and that the county must supply canceled checks and documentation to support the reimbursement request.
Speaker 1 moved to amend the consultant contract for the HMGP projects to reflect updated costs; the motion was seconded and approved by the court. Staff indicated the grant administrator (named in the agenda transcript) would finalize the amendment and submit it to the state for approval.
Next steps: County staff will assemble required documentation (canceled checks and project invoices) and the consultant will submit the contract amendment to the state agency administering HMGP for approval and reimbursement.
