Summary
Audit of draft articles produced checks for spelling, clarity, chronology, misidentification and process clarity; revisions corrected transcript errors ("scribe"→"crime"), standardized policy numbering, and clarified speaker attribution only where names appear in transcript.
Audit (categories reviewed): spelling, clarity, chronology, framing, misinformation, misidentification, out_of_context, quantitative precision, process clarity, context clarity, agency clarity, question emphasis, omission, bias, duplicate.
Key issues found and fixes applied:
- Spelling/terminology: Transcript repeatedly used "scribe statistics"; corrected to "crime statistics" and standardized reference to "Policy 8420." Severity: medium. Fix: corrected wording in article and noted policy number.
- Speaker identification: Several presenters (Mark; Mike; Liz) are referenced by first name only in the transcript. The draft attributed quotes only to speakers explicitly named in transcript; where the transcript identified a presenter by first name (e.g., Mark on the phone), quotes are attributed to that first name and first-ref segment is recorded. Severity: low. Fix: retained only names that appear in transcript and used generic labels otherwise.
- Quantitative precision: Some course-enrollment numbers were transcribed with spacing (e.g., "2 31"); numbers were normalized to integers in the articles but kept as reported (e.g., Composition & Research 126→231). Severity: low. Fix: normalized numeric formatting and preserved source attribution.
- Process clarity: The task-force selection process and application deadline were described in discussion but not finalized; articles explicitly note the application window is "around March 11" and that selection protocols will be published. Severity: medium. Fix: added clarifying details and next steps.
No issues of misidentification (attributing a named quote to the wrong person) were found beyond first-name-only constraints; no conflicts of interest or contested legal claims were present in the transcript.
