The Brighton Central School District board approved a multi‑item slate including an update to the superintendent’s term to create a five‑year contract, textbook recommendations, a financial depository designation, a professional development plan for 2024–25, and the consent agenda, which included personnel actions and gifts.
Speaker 3 described an update to the superintendent’s contract term to maintain a five‑year planning horizon. "So, motion to approve the superintendent contract," Speaker 3 said; the motion was moved by Esther and seconded by Karen and approved.
On the consent agenda, the board approved multiple personnel recommendations, special education committee items, fundraising activities for athletics and music, and gifts: violins and accessories from Alain Kong, and two basic string books from Jen Kinslow to the Brighton Central School District. The board also approved textbook recommendations and the professional development plan after motions were made and seconded.
Before adjournment the board thanked the tech team for moving operations and voted to go into executive session after the public meeting.
