Staff described a modest, collaborative study scope: inventory four to five surrounding blocks, consult with the school, churches (Lakeside Church already has an arrangement to share parking) and property owners, assess drainage and right‑of‑way constraints, and recommend phased improvements that could be implemented without large initial capital outlay. The study could also review the drain‑field/raised‑area conditions on the proposed site and the effects of paving or other surfacing options.
The commission moved, seconded and approved the authorization for the town manager to solicit the traffic planner; staff will return a plan with recommended next steps after stakeholder consultation and technical review.
