Board Approves Contract Changes: L3Harris Service Reduction and Cooling Tower Replacement

First, staff requested Amendment No. 2 to the L3Harris master service agreement to remove an Exacom logging recorder that the county no longer uses; the change reduces annual maintenance costs by $36,695. The item was described as straightforward and the board approved the modification.
Second, the board approved a CIP budget transfer and award of contract to replace a failing cooling tower at the Human Services building. Staff described available CIP savings and reallocated funds (total project cost approximately $116,980) to pay CII Services for the replacement. County facilities staff and the vendor included loop water treatment and a 12‑month maintenance treatment in the scope; staff said the building’s BAS controls were recently upgraded and anticipated no major control issues during replacement. The county administrator was authorized to execute the contract and staff said work will proceed under procurement rules.
