The Southampton County Planning Commission unanimously adopted a resolution of appreciation recognizing William W. Day for more than 10 years of service to the planning commission.
The resolution, read into the record by the chairman, noted that William W. Day served the citizens of Southampton County as a planning commission member from July 28, 2014, to April 30, 2025, and commended his leadership and dedication to orderly development and preservation. A commissioner moved to accept the resolution; a second was recorded and the chair called the question. Members responded "aye" and the resolution was adopted.
Day, who was present, thanked the commission and called it an honor and a privilege to serve. The chair invited Day to remain for the meeting or to be excused; commissioners offered congratulations and appreciation. No further action on the resolution was required.
