Day served the citizens of Southampton County as a planning commission member from July 28, 2014, to April 30, 2025, and commended his leadership and dedication to orderly development and preservation. A commissioner moved to accept the resolution; a second was recorded and the chair called the question. Members responded "aye" and the resolution was adopted.
Day, who was present, thanked the commission and called it an honor and a privilege to serve. The chair invited Day to remain for the meeting or to be excused; commissioners offered congratulations and appreciation. No further action on the resolution was required.
