The chairman said he has not signed minutes dating back to January because of “slight discrepancies” he and Mr. Randolph identified between the approved minutes and the internet‑posted versions. He characterized the differences as formatting or word changes rather than substantive changes to rezoning or formal actions.
Commissioners discussed possible remedies, including having the chairman and vice chairman review the minutes, adding an addendum identifying exact differences for transparency, and, if needed, asking the county attorney to “cross all the t’s and dot all the i’s.” One commissioner asked whether the matter had been formally tabled; the chairman said it would be revisited at the next meeting when Mr. Randolph is present.
The commission did not adopt a formal remedy at the meeting. The chair said he would follow up, that the commission intends to retain 1 certified minutes taker going forward, and that any clarified process would be disclosed to the board at a future meeting.
